Double Robust Semiparametric Efficient Tests for Distributional Treatment Effects under the Conditional Independence Assumption

چکیده

This note describes methods to test for distributional treatment effects under the conditional independence assumption. The differences between latent outcome distributions are judged by testing hypotheses of distributional equality and stochastic dominance. Furthermore, semiparametric efficient versions of the test statistics are given. The latter test statistics are double robust, i.e., they are consistent under misspecification of either the outcome equation or the propensity score. Consistent bootstrap procedures for deriving critical values of all tests are proposed. JEL-Classification: C14, C15, C21

Estimation of multivalued treatment effects under conditional independence

This article discusses the poparms command that implements two semiparametric estimators for multivalued treatment effects discussed in Cattaneo (2010). The first is a properly reweighted inverse-probability weighted estimator and the second is an efficient-influence-function estimator which can be interpreted as having the double-robust property. Our implementation jointly estimates means and ...

Robust tests for treatment effects based on censored recurrent event data observed over multiple periods.

We derive semiparametric methods for estimating and testing treatment effects when censored recurrent event data are available over multiple periods. These methods are based on estimating functions motivated by a working "mixed-Poisson" assumption under which conditioning can eliminate subject-specific random effects. Robust pseudoscore test statistics are obtained via "sandwich" variance estim...

Semiparametric Bayesian analysis of case-control data under conditional gene-environment independence.

In case-control studies of gene-environment association with disease, when genetic and environmental exposures can be assumed to be independent in the underlying population, one may exploit the independence in order to derive more efficient estimation techniques than the traditional logistic regression analysis (Chatterjee and Carroll, 2005, Biometrika92, 399-418). However, covariates that stra...

The effects of the violation of local independence assumption on the person measures under the Rasch model

Local independence of test items is an assumption in all Item Response Theory (IRT) models. That is, the items in a test should not be related to each other. Sharing a common passage, which is prevalent in reading comprehension tests, cloze tests and C-Tests, can be a potential source of local item dependence (LID). It is argued in the literature that LID results in biased parameter estimation ...

Nonparametric Estimation of Average Treatment Effects under Exogeneity: A Review

Recently there has been a surge in econometric work focusing on estimating average treatment effects under various sets of assumptions. One strand of this literature has developed methods for estimating average treatment effects for a binary treatment under assumptions variously described as exogeneity, unconfoundedness, or selection on observables. The implication of these assumptions is that ...
